Looking for a good sandwich shop with a country hometown feel? Then consider checking out The Colonial House of Sandwiches in Baytown, and experience lunchtime like you used to have when you were a kid at home.
On a recent trip to Baytown, just east of H-Town, I made my way to this local sandwich shop on the north side of Baytown off Garth Road. As I entered, I was greeted warmly. My eyes glanced around at the twenty or so tables set up around the seating area and I was pleased with the clean interior.
After ordering and receiving my ice-cold soda, I made my way to a corner table. As I waited for my lunch to be prepared, I enjoyed looking at the business cards of local businesses that were sealed in the top of my table.
My food arrived promptly, and it looked delicious. I bit into the soft, fresh bread of the sandwich and the lettuce, cold ham and cheese tasted refreshing and delectable. The soup was piping hot and full of flavor and had just the right amount of spiciness for me. The fresh pickle spear was crunchy and helped cool the heat from the soup off my tongue. I felt right at home in the cozy atmosphere as I enjoyed my delicious lunch. After finishing, I felt completely satisfied and that I had received a great value for the experience and taste.
So, the next time you are craving a good sandwich and to want to feel like you’re back in mom’s kitchen, be sure to stop by The Colonial House of Sandwiches at 3002 Garth Road in Baytown.
